These are the skills that make me so thankful for the opportunity to serve as Miss Rodeo Wyoming. I say “serve” because that is exactly what I learned to do. I learned to serve others and to have a servant’s heart. As Miss Rodeo Wyoming, I served the Miss Rodeo Wyoming committee. I served rodeo committees. I served rodeo fans. I served little girls who had the dream of one day becoming a rodeo queen.
Sometimes success isn’t found in the limelight, but in the shadows.
Many people have a negative connotation with the word, “servant” or the idea of having to serve others. To be truthful, serving others is when we have the most joy in this world. We sometimes believe that being served will make us the most happy. One day, when you are just not feeling right, try serving someone else. This takes our eyes off of ourselves and turns our attention to others. This brings true joy. I now have the privilege of serving an incredible husband, one step-son, two daughters and two sons. It is exhausting and exhilarating! Learning to enjoy all of the moments, whether difficult or wonderful has been something I focus on doing every day.
